David Barrett - The Dead Arm (2009)
My new album The Dead Arm contains mostly solo performances, recorded and produced by myself on acoustic, 12 string, classical, resophonic, mandolin, and laud. There is quite a range of sounds, it features some percussion, including a vibraslap and even a cowbell!

David Barrett - Impostor (2008)
Impostor was an album designed to explore early musical influences featuring music performed on solo guitar but including some overdubs of electric, steel, bass, and keyboards, all played by myself. The cover is a tribute to Steve Howe's hugely influential first solo album, Beginnings.

David Barrett - Music For Acoustic Guitar (2006)
Music For Acoustic Guitar is one of my favorite albums to date. All six string compositions played on my 1970 Gibson Hummingbird Custom and my 1978 Takamine classical.

David Barrett/Scott Matthews - Radium Lustre (2009)
Radium Lustre is the new prog collaboration between Scott Matthews and myself, Scott played fretless bass and keyboards, I did all the guitars, including electrics, acoustics, resophonic, and steel. We split writing and production duties, sending wave files via ftp back and forth from Toronto and Stratford. During the entire recording we were never in the studio together!
Scott Matthews and I have been playing together on and off since our early teens. These two albums focus on our love of 20th century composers and also early progressive rock influences. Working with Scott on Radium Lustre and was one of the most enjoyable collaborations I've ever been involved in! You can check out more of Scott Matthews at MySpace/Impetus

David Barrett/Scott Matthews - Amitabha (2005)
Amitabha was the result of Scott Matthews and I deciding to collaborate after many years. We were excited to play music together, but were unsure of how to approach it. We started working in Stratford, Ontario at Loreena McKennitt's studio the Belfry. Soon, we had a few tracks ready and we then began to figure out a new mode of operation by trading files online and being much more efficient with our time. Because it was a new recording style for us, we ended up using everything from a Roland 2480, Br-8, Protools, and various other recording software. The result is the esoteric ambient album Amitabha.

David Barrett - The Atomsmasher's Noisy Trade (2004)
After a lot of touring and working in rock circles, I became very interested in using my gear to the max, the result is many hours of recorded soundscapes. The Atomsmasher's Noisy Trade is a three part soundscape recorded live in the studio featuring my old enormous pedalboard, now happily replaced with Line 6 and Roland gear!

David Barrett - Staring Into The Sun (1996)
Staring Into the Sun was my first solo album produced by Richard Chycki. Rich and I worked together on numerous sessions in the 1990's. We recorded this in Rich's apartment in Oakville Ontario, back in 1995, Rich has since gone on to work with many bands, most notably Rush.

Splub - Splub (2008)
Splub is a great trio that plays proggressive music, but all improvised. Sascha Tukatsch has the unenviable job of editing hours of live jams, the result of which is Splub Vol.1.

Kush - The Temptation Sessions (2002)
Bassist/Producer Etric Lyons and I started Kush and made this cd. The original idea was to take wave files created in my studio, and then have Etric edit them on the computer and include bass and percussion tracks. The result was very interesting. Etric has gone on to make more records with Kush and take it in a down-tempo direction.

no.9 - no.p (1999)
no.9 was the band prior to Platinum Blonde (the later incarnation!). The album took forever to make, Alex Lifeson even helped out, but the album remains an obscure favorite among some fans.

Mark Holmes - Are You Sitting Comfortably? (2001)
Recorded at Metalworks Are You Sitting Comfortably represents the four years of touring with Mark Holmes and Platinum Blonde. We called it a Mark Homles record to make it available and avoid complications.
